About Andrea

The Physio

Andrea Baker has over 15 years' experience working in the specialist area of women's health as a physiotherapist. She completed her post graduate certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in 2008 at the University of Melbourne. Since then, Andrea has completed clinical work in both public and private acute maternity and surgical wards, outpatient clinics, pre and post natal exercise classes, active birthing classes and private practice clinics. She has also taught on women's health-related subjects at both LaTrobe University and Griffith University.

Andrea offers her in-home physiotherapist services with empathy, passion and experience. Empathy, because she is a mother of three herself, and knows about the issues associated with pre and post-pregnancy. Passion, because of her desire to care for others. And experience, because she has worked in the specialist area of women's health for over a decade. She aims to provide holistic care to women of all ages, from the teenage years to post-menopause, so that all aspects of a woman's problems can be addressed. Andrea often liaises with other health care professionals in order to better provide more balanced care.

   The Service

Andrea is aware of the difficulties that exist in trying to organise getting into a clinic, whether it be the need for childcare, a lack of transport or just the hassle of preparing a trip to an unknown location and the possibility of parking issues etc. As a result, Restore Pelvic Physiotherapy offers home visits to overcome these potential problems. You can have your full assessment and treatment in the comfort of your home whilst receiving the same care and resources you would usually receive when in a clinic environment.

The aim of our service is to treat and educate on strategies and principles so as to empower women to be able to self manage their issues. We may do this through exercise, lifestyle changes and sharing knowledge.
